The Goat Fair of Céré-la-Ronde
The 59th Goat Fair takes place on Sunday, October 25, the last Sunday of the month, in the village centre of Céré-la-Ronde. The village, in the Lochois area, sits between the châteaux of Montpoupon and Montrésor, in a landscape of hedgerows and woods.
On the last Sunday of October for close to sixty years, the fair has honoured goat farming, which is widespread in the south of Touraine.
The flea market and the car boot sale take up a large share of it. Sellers lay out old furniture, crockery, trinkets, books, tools, toys, clothes, farm objects and old linen, on stalls that run past the tuffeau farmhouses and the village church.
An autumn market brings local produce, with a tasting of Touraine goat cheeses. Rural entertainment mingles with the stalls.
A few kilometres away, the château de Montpoupon, a medieval fortress, houses a hunting museum.
From boulevard Béranger to place Billard
On Saturday 24/10/2026, from 8 am to noon, up to thirty-five professionals take over place de la Victoire for the Puces de Tours: old furniture, books, vinyl, crockery. The market also returns on Wednesdays. In Orléans, the boulevard Alexandre Martin flea market lines up between 50 and 110 stallholders on the car park, from 7:30 am to 3 pm. It has run every Saturday since 1977.
Near Dreux, in Vernouillet, Dans Mon Vide Grenier opens from 10 am to 7 pm: a permanent consignment shop where furniture, decoration, clothes and tools change hands.
Winter time starts overnight, Saturday to Sunday.
On Sunday, the fourth of the month, boulevard Béranger welcomes 100 to 200 professionals of the flea market, antiques and decoration trades, from 7 am to 7 pm. The Tours city hall organises it under the plane trees, a few steps from the law courts. Old furniture, works of art, paintings, lamps and antique toys sit side by side.
In Chartres, around fifty dealers share place Billard, under a former vegetable hall in the Baltard style, a stone's throw from the cathedral. The public is let in from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm, and books, vinyl records, comic books, collectible toys and ceramics fill the stalls, among small vintage furniture and jewellery, under the Association des Brocanteurs de la Place Billard, founded in January 2014, which runs this event on the second and fourth Sunday of the month. Entry is free.
North-east of Orléans, the Traînou flea market runs every Sunday morning: 60 to 100 stallholders, private sellers and professionals, on a dedicated field in the village, with old furniture, crockery and curiosities.
A different register in Châtillon-sur-Loire, in the Loiret: the Amis des Oiseaux du Giennois hold their bird fair from 9 am to 5 pm at the socio-cultural centre on place du Champ de Foire. Parrots, canaries, finches and exotic doves change cages, free entry.
