Boulevard Jean Bignon in Bourbon-l'Archambault

The Bourbon-l'Archambault flea market runs from 6 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. on Sunday 25 October. Radio Qui Qu'en Grogne, a local community radio station, organises it. It fills boulevard Jean Bignon and the adjoining streets. Up to 500 exhibitors set up there. Trade dealers, antique dealers and private sellers line a route several hundred metres long.

The town has fewer than 3,000 inhabitants.

Stalls carry old furniture, crockery, knick-knacks, tools, books, records, vintage clothes and old toys. A vintage car show runs through the day, traditional bread bakes in a wood-fired oven and food is served on site. Admission is free.

Overnight from Saturday to Sunday, France moves to winter time. Hunters gain an hour of sleep. The town keeps its medieval castle, its thermal baths, its towers and its lake. The market slips between the old streets and the views of the ruins of the Bourbon castle, and the keenest hunters make their first finds the moment it opens.

From village fairs to permanent markets

Two village festivals share this weekend's Sunday. In Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, the Saint-Simon market, a century-old event, gathers dealers, craftspeople and local producers from 9 a.m. in the medieval streets of this Most Beautiful Village of France. Flavigny aniseed sweets are tasted in the Carolingian crypt. In Montigny-en-Ostrevent, in the Douaisis, the Automnales hold their street sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., then the folk parade of the giants Floris de Montmorency and Hélène de Melun in the afternoon, for the 58th edition. Saturday evening brings a dinner dance. The craft show at the Centre Jean Monnet opens on Saturday, and the street-sale exhibitors set up their stalls from 5 a.m. on Sunday, at €6 per 3 metres for private sellers and €8 for professionals. Free concerts and entertainment fill the day in Flavigny, from 9 a.m. until nightfall.

The monthly antique fairs split the two days. On Saturday, October 24, 2026, the monthly Deauville market sets up from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the square by the Saint-Augustin church. Everything comes from trade dealers: old furniture, paintings, jewellery, chandeliers and antique linen. On Sunday, the boulevard Béranger in Tours hosts about a hundred dealers from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., among furniture, objets d'art, trinkets and curiosities, while Pagny-sur-Meuse brings together about forty on place du 28 Juillet from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., around objets d'art, crockery and silverware.

Paris and Cannes, Saturday and Sunday alike. place des Abbesses in Montmartre from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., for period furniture, lamps and 1950s to 1970s pieces. The Allées de la Liberté opposite the Old Port from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., for porcelain, crystal, old books and vintage jewellery.

On Saturday, the La Rochelle flea market fills place du Commandant de la Motte Rouge from 8.30 a.m. to 7 p.m. About forty dealers accredited by the city hall hold stalls there. On Sunday morning, about thirty exhibitors line boulevard Pascal Rossini in Ajaccio from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In Flavigny-sur-Ozerain, admission and parking cost €3 per vehicle, with a tin of aniseed sweets included and free shuttles between the car park and the village.
