Saturday August 1, the Eva Jouan waterfront hosts La Braderie de l'Île, in Le Palais, the main harbour of Belle-Île-en-Mer. The day runs from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.
The programme goes beyond a flea market: children's activities, live shows and mussels with fries surround the stalls. Pitches are free, with a simple booking through the town hall of Le Palais. That is worth flagging, since most car boot sales charge by the linear metre. And then there is the constraint that gives the day its flavour: you have to cross by boat. Nobody leaves here with a wardrobe under one arm, which forces you to hunt small and choose properly.

You walk in a straight line, sea on one side, stalls on the other, without the swirl of a sports-ground sale. It is the biggest single gathering of the Saturday in Brittany, and probably the most pleasant to walk.

Saturday August 1, the first Saturday of the month, the Ville Bague field hosts the Saint-Coulomb car boot sale. The local festival committee gathers around 300 private sellers there.
This ranks among the largest car boot sales on the Emerald Coast. The date never moves: every first Saturday of August, on the same field. The format stays purely amateur, with no professional dealers. Private sellers, a wide open space and a village-fête mood at the height of the tourist season. At that scale, plan on a good half of the morning to cover every aisle.
Trévignon Point Car Boot Sale in Trégunc, hunting by the ocean (Finistère)
Saturday August 1, the FDABCCC29 association runs its big annual car boot sale at Trévignon Point, in Trégunc. Entry is free, from 9 am to 6 pm.
Pitches cost 2.50 euros per metre, with no table or chair supplied, so sellers bring their own kit. A bar and food stalls run on site. The sixth edition took place in August 2025, which makes this a fairly young gathering that has already earned a fixed slot in the local calendar. Private sellers and families dominate, in a rocky headland setting rather than a village hall car park.
Scaër Traders' Street Sale, 130 sellers far from the beaches (Finistère)
Saturday August 1, the local craftsmen and traders' association runs the Scaër street sale and car boot sale. Around 130 sellers fill the place de la Mairie and rue Jean-Jaurès, with free entry.
The format contrasts sharply with the seaside sales. Here, shopkeepers move their stock onto the pavement and private sellers fill in with attic finds. The mix produces a town-centre event where locals outnumber nobody and holidaymakers blend in. It counts among the summer highlights of this inland Finistère town. Sunday August 2, USTLP, the local football club, runs its annual car boot sale on the marina car park, beside the river Trieux. Ninety sellers are expected, from 8 am to 6 pm.
The fee is set at 3 euros per linear metre, with booking by email or phone. Sellers are welcomed from 5:30 am, with free coffee, a detail that matters when you unload a car before sunrise. The setting is a working marina, between the masts and the river. This is a club sale, run by football volunteers to fund the coming season.
Dinard Monthly Flea Market, over 50 dealers on the esplanade des Halles (Ille-et-Vilaine)
Sunday August 2, the first Sunday of the month, the Dinard monthly flea market brings more than 50 professional dealers to the esplanade des Halles. Free entry from 9 am to 7 pm.
Period furniture, tableware, toys, linen, jewellery and paintings make up the offer. What sets this apart from the rest of the list is the status of the sellers. No households clearing a garage, but traders who do this all year round. Prices reflect that, and so does the condition of the pieces. Ten hours of opening is generous for a flea market: no need to show up at dawn.
Grandes Puces de Bénodet, the season's last edition on place du Meneyer (Finistère)
Sunday August 2, place du Meneyer hosts the August edition of the Grandes Puces de Bénodet. The market runs from 8 am to 6 pm, free entry, with food available on site.

Sunday August 2, the LPC 56 association and the ACCA hunting society jointly run the Locmariaquer car boot sale. It takes place at the municipal stadium, 4 Vierge de Kerlogonan. Around 150 sellers trade from 7 am to 6 pm.
Eleven hours of opening: the widest window of the whole Breton weekend. The village counts just over 1,500 residents and sits at the western tip of the Gulf of Morbihan. It is best known worldwide for its Neolithic megaliths, so a morning of hunting pairs easily with a visit to the site. The pairing of a leisure club and a hunting society gives the event a strongly local flavour.
Sainte-Croix Car Boot Sale in Josselin, hunting in sight of the Rohan castle (Morbihan)
Sunday August 2, the Sainte-Croix district runs its summer car boot sale, on the far side of the bridge over the Oust, in Josselin.
The setting makes the event. Josselin is a medieval town dominated by the Rohan castle, and hunting here happens on the riverbank. The Sainte-Croix district occupies the opposite bank of the Oust, facing the old town. This is a neighbourhood gathering on a human scale, nothing like the 300 sellers of Saint-Coulomb the day before. People come as much for the walk along the water as for what sits in the boxes.
Saint-Nicolas-du-Pélem Monthly Car Boot Sale, hunting in the heart of Kreiz Breizh (Côtes-d'Armor)
Sunday August 2, the first Sunday of the month, the local craftsmen and traders run the Saint-Nicolas-du-Pélem car boot sale, on rue Auguste-Le-Coënt. Doors open to hunters from 8 am to 1 pm, entry free.
A pitch costs sellers 5 euros flat, a pricing that breaks with the per-metre rate used everywhere else. The event is monthly, so modest by design. Its appeal lies in its position: this small market town of Kreiz Breizh sits in central Brittany, well away from the coastal tourist flow. It is a morning, not a full day.
