Grand summer street sale on the Eva Jouan quay in Le Palais, Belle-Île-en-Mer
The Braderie de l'Île is a must-attend summer event in Belle-Île-en-Mer. It takes place on the rive Eva Jouan, a picturesque promenade along the port of Le Palais. From 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, the event combines a flea market, children's entertainment, musical shows, and friendly dining with a traditional mussels and fries meal. Stalls are free upon reservation with the town hall.
Le Palais is the main town of Belle-Île-en-Mer and its entry port, connected to the mainland by Compagnie Océane ferries departing from Quiberon. Dominated by the imposing Vauban citadel, the port of Le Palais offers a remarkable panorama of the fortifications and the bay. The rive Eva Jouan, named after the Breton poet who coined the expression 'the well-named' for Belle-Île in her collection De la grève (1896), is a popular promenade along the port.
La Braderie de l'Île brings together locals and holidaymakers in a friendly and festive atmosphere. Musical entertainment, including the Barbaroké, adds an original touch to this event that celebrates the island spirit and the pleasure of seaside treasure hunting.
