Rural and artisanal fair of Filitosa in Sollacaro: over 100 Corsican producers and artisans gathered on the prehistoric site in July-August
The Fiera di u Turismu Campagnolu of Filitosa is one of the most emblematic rural fairs in Corsica. Organized every summer in Sollacaro on the prehistoric site of Filitosa, it brings together over 100 Corsican producers and artisans on 10,000 m². Cheeses, wines, honey, arts and crafts, polyphonic concerts, and children's entertainment make this fair an unmissable cultural and gastronomic experience. Entrance fee applies.
Every summer in Sollacaro, on the mythical prehistoric site of Filitosa, one of the most famous and anticipated fairs in Corsica takes place: the Fiera di u Turismu Campagnolu. This exceptional event, whose Corsican name means "Rural Tourism Fair", brings together for three days — generally from August 1st to 3rd — over 100 producers and artisans from all over the island to present and sell the best of their know-how.
With an exhibition area of approximately 10,000 square meters, the Filitosa fair is on the scale of its ambition: to introduce the general public to the richness and diversity of Corsican productions, from agri-food to arts and crafts, in the incomparable setting of a listed site inscribed on the world archaeological heritage.
Corsican flavors are at the heart of the Filitosa fair. Visitors can discover and buy an impressive range of local products: cheeses (brocciu AOC, tomme, niolu, venachese…), Corsican cured meats (lonzo, coppa, figatellu, prisuttu…), maquis and chestnut honeys, Corsican AOC wines (Ajaccio, Figari, Porto-Vecchio, Sartène…), olive oils, jams and canistrelli, liqueurs and brandies.
On the crafts side, exhibitors offer unique pieces made using traditional Corsican techniques: gold and silver jewelry, Corsican knives with steel blades and olive wood handles, pottery, ceramics, basketry, wood carving, parachute cloth clothing, and textile creations.
The fair is held at the Filitosa site, one of the most important collections of statue-menhirs in the Mediterranean, dating from 3,500 to 1,500 BC. These anthropomorphic statues, frozen in granite for millennia, watch over the fair like silent witnesses to Corsican cultural continuity. The presence of this exceptional archaeological heritage gives the event a unique cultural dimension, making it much more than just a market.
The Fiera di u Turismu Campagnolu is also a musical and convivial celebration. Each edition features 3 concerts of Corsican polyphonic singing, allowing visitors to appreciate the beauty and depth of this vocal music inscribed on the intangible cultural heritage. A dance evening with a DJ usually concludes the fair in a festive atmosphere. Donkey and horse rides are organized for children. Food is available on-site with spit-roasted meat and wood-fired grills.
The Fiera di u Turismu Campagnolu returns in July-August 2026 to the prehistoric site of Filitosa in Sollacaro. Over 100 Corsican exhibitors, crafts, local products, polyphonic concerts. Emblematic rural fair of South Corsica. Exact dates to be confirmed.
