Annual craft and agricultural fair in Olmeto on August 9th and 10th at the Baracci thermal site, with a flea market, Corsican crafts, and entertainment
The Foire de Baracci "Acqua è Saluta" is one of the oldest and most popular cultural and artisanal events in South Corsica. Organized every year on August 9th and 10th by the Comité d'Animation d'Olmeto (CAO) at the beautiful Baracci Baths site, the 32nd edition brings together about 80 artisans and producers, a flea market, Corsican musical entertainment, and activities for children. Free entry and parking.
Every year on August 9th and 10th, the thermal site of the Bains de Baracci, in the commune of Olmeto (South Corsica), transforms into a crossroads of Corsican craftsmanship, flavors, and culture. The Foire de Baracci – Acqua è Saluta is one of the most important traditional fairs on the south of the island, with a history of over thirty years.
The 32nd edition continues the original purpose of the event: to bring together local artisans and producers to showcase the island's know-how and products, in a spirit of sharing and conviviality accessible to all. Entry is completely free, as is parking.
The fair hosts around 80 artisans and producers from all over Corsica, offering a range of creations and flavors representative of the island's diversity. You can find Corsican cheeses (brocciu, tomme, niolo…), cured meats (lonzo, coppa, figatellu…), honeys, AOC Corse wines, olive oils, artisanal jams, and biscuits. In terms of arts and crafts, visitors can discover pottery, jewelry, Corsican knives, olive wood, and stone objects.
A flea market area complements the offerings, allowing treasure hunters to find beautiful items in the tree-lined and green setting of the thermal site. The flea market is alongside the artisans' and producers' stalls, creating an atmosphere of an authentic popular market, far from the coastal tourist crowds.
The Foire de Baracci is not just its market: it offers a program of cultural and musical entertainment that makes these two days a true celebration. Corsican polyphonic music concerts punctuate the afternoons and evenings, allowing the public to discover or rediscover the island's songs in this exceptional natural setting. Activities for children — including donkey rides — complete the family program.
For food, visitors can enjoy spit-roasted meat and wood-fired grills prepared by the organizers, accompanied by Corsican wines and artisanal beers available at the stands.
The thermal site of the Bains de Baracci, located in the plain below the village of Olmeto, has been known since antiquity for its sulfurous sodium waters with therapeutic properties. The surrounding park offers a green and shaded setting, ideal for hosting an open-air fair in the height of summer. The exhibition area covers nearly 10,000 square meters, allowing artisans, producers, and visitors to be comfortably accommodated.
The Foire de Baracci "Acqua è Saluta" returns on August 9th and 10th, 2026, at the Bains de Baracci site in Olmeto. Crafts, Corsican local products, flea market, and musical entertainment in an exceptional natural setting. Free entry and parking, South Corsica.
