Flea markets and antique fairs across Nouvelle-Aquitaine on September 19-20, 2026: 350 vendors fill the streets of L'Absie, the Ceaux-en-Loudun fair, and eight more gatherings between Charente, Gironde and Vienne.
Saturday morning, in the streets of L'Absie. Northern Deux-Sèvres holds its bargain fair and giant flea market on September 19 and 20 (19-20/09). Three hundred fifty vendors set up in this village, alongside nine more gatherings across Nouvelle-Aquitaine, from Charente to Vienne.
The giant fair of L'Absie
On September 20, L'Absie opens its streets. The Groupement des Commerçants et Artisans runs its annual bargain fair there, with three hundred fifty vendors lining rue Raymond Migaud and rue de la Poste, in this village in northern Deux-Sèvres, for a gathering that fills the whole town centre.
A giant flea market takes over the same streets. Private sellers and shopkeepers set up their stalls side by side, along the whole length of the route, under a still-summery sky, between crockery stalls and vintage furniture corners.
A vintage car show adds to the mix. Bargain sale, popular flea market and classic vehicles combined in a single day: this mix sets the gathering apart from an ordinary village car boot sale, where a single format usually dominates all year round, from the simple trinket to the collectible piece of furniture.
L'Absie remains a village. Bringing these three formats together on the same streets nonetheless explains the scale of this gathering, one of the busiest of the season in the area, far from the region's big towns and their shopping centres.
The rest of the weekend, from Poitou to the Basque Country
In Barbezieux-Saint-Hilaire, Charente, the Association des Fêtes de Plaisance gathers over three hundred private and professional vendors on the tree-lined esplanade. The gathering runs from 7am to 7pm, for the second big flea market of the year in this corner of southern Charente. In Capbreton, Lous Pibalous draws two hundred vendors to the market square, behind the town hall, from 6am to 6pm. The organising association charges 4.50 euros per metre, or 3 euros for two metres of table. In northern Vienne, the 43rd Ceaux-en-Loudun exhibition fair opens its fourth day on the 20th, with a discovery farm, a traditional bakery, a farm machinery display and poultry sales, over four full days running from the 18th to the 22nd of September in this town of the Loudunais. A botanical exhibition and a rural inn are also on site, with animations and concerts. In the Basque Country, Ahetze draws one hundred fifty vendors, a few kilometres from Saint-Jean-de-Luz and Biarritz.
In Dordogne, the Fêt'Astier association, known for running the Nuit des Bandas, holds the Saint-Astier flea market in the town centre, from 8am to 6pm, priced at two euros per metre, with sandwiches, fries and drinks on site. In Gironde, in the Libournais, the grape harvest accompanies Sainte-Florence, where private sellers offer clothes, toys, books and trinkets.
On the shores of the artificial Lake Vassivière, one of the largest lakes in the Massif Central, in Haute-Vienne, the grand flea market takes over the Auphelle campsite, at the gateway to the island of contemporary sculptures, from 9am to 6pm. In Creuse, the Puces Dunoises open on the 19th at the Champ de Foire. In Lot-et-Garonne, around sixty vendors animate the Montesquieu flea market, in this village of the Pays d'Albret, free entry and a drinks stand for visitors.
