Solidarity-based clothing and household items exchange at the Women's Rights and Equality House in Mitry-Mory
The Mitry-Mory Clothing and Household Items Exchange is organized by the Women's Rights and Equality House, as part of a solidarity and responsible approach. This event allows residents of the town and surrounding areas to give a second life to their clothes, household linen, and household accessories, while supporting a structure committed to equality and women's rights. A local initiative that is ecological, social, and economical all at once.
Organized by the Women's Rights and Equality House of Mitry-Mory, this spring exchange is part of a responsible and solidarity-based approach to consumption. Unlike a traditional flea market, it is a managed consignment sale where individuals deposit their clothes and household items, which are then offered for sale at modest prices. The concept appeals to a growing audience sensitive to the circular economy, the fight against waste, and support for grassroots associations.
The Women's Rights and Equality House is a municipal structure dedicated to supporting and defending rights. By organizing this exchange, it contributes to its self-financing and to strengthening social ties in the town. The proceeds support the actions carried out throughout the year: legal consultations, workshops, discussion groups, awareness-raising actions, and support for victims of violence. Shopping at this exchange also means supporting an essential cause.
The exchange offers a wide variety of items: adult and children's clothing for all seasons, shoes, accessories, bags, as well as household linen (sheets, towels, tablecloths), dishes, small appliances, and decorative objects. All items are carefully sorted and checked before being put up for sale. The prices, deliberately very accessible, allow families on tight budgets to stock up at low cost and offer bargain hunters the opportunity to find beautiful pieces at mini prices.
Mitry-Mory is a dynamic town in the north of Seine-et-Marne, located near Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport. With more than 18,000 inhabitants, it benefits from a rich associative life and a well-established tradition of solidarity events. The clothing exchange is one of those eagerly awaited moments where neighborhood residents, families, young people, and seniors meet in a friendly and warm atmosphere. A real intergenerational meeting in service of a good cause.
In recent years, clothing exchanges have experienced an important revival, driven by environmental awareness and the success of the second-hand market. Buying second-hand reduces your ecological footprint, extends the life of objects, and fights against fast fashion. The Mitry-Mory exchange fully embraces this approach and offers a responsible alternative to traditional stores, while contributing to a local association project.
The Clothing and Household Items Exchange will be held on Wednesday April 22, 2026 at the Women's Rights and Equality House in Mitry-Mory. Free admission for visitors. Deposit terms are to be consulted directly with the organization. Mitry-Mory is accessible via the RER B (Villeparisis - Mitry-le-Neuf stations).
