Three annual chining days in the Vienne valley
Valdivienne is a new commune formed in 2017 by merging several communes (Chapelle-Viviers, Salles-en-Toulon, Saint-Martin-la-Rivière, Morthemer, Valdivienne) in the Vienne valley near Chauvigny. This multi-village structure enables brocante organisation on multiple dates across the year, rotating hamlets.
2026 has three dates: Sunday 24 May, Sunday 5 July, Saturday 15 August. This regularity makes Valdivienne a landmark for Poitiers-Chauvigny-Montmorillon area collectors.
Chining in remarkable surroundings. Commune stretches along the Vienne valley with picturesque hamlets (Chapelle-Viviers, Morthemer) between forests and river. Just 5 km away: Chauvigny, extraordinary medieval town with five fortresses perched on a rocky spur — one of Vienne's major heritage sites.
Three dates in different seasons offer varied experiences: mild May spring, high July summer, August outdoors.
Organised by comités des fêtes and local associations from Valdivienne hamlets. Warm welcome, modest exhibitor rates, systematic catering by volunteers with regional specialties (grilled food, cakes, fruit tarts).
Region full of treasures: Chauvigny medieval upper town, Saint-Savin UNESCO Romanesque frescoes abbey, Angles-sur-l'Anglin Most Beautiful Village (25 km), Vienne valley walking trails. Easy to extend into a 2-3 day heritage trip.
