The Rue de Paris Flea Market: a Joinville institution

For over half a century, the Brocante Vide-Greniers de la Rue de Paris prolongée has established itself as one of the most anticipated flea market events in Val-de-Marne. Organised by the local association Atelier 55, this event takes place twice a year – in spring and autumn – along Rue de Paris prolongée and Avenue Molette, in the heart of Joinville-le-Pont.

With its 53rd edition planned for May 2026, the event demonstrates remarkable longevity and deep roots in local life. The flea market has endured the decades while retaining its popular and convivial character, attracting both antique professionals and private bargain hunters at every edition.

An open-air flea market walk along the Marne

The setting is idyllic: the long, lively Rue de Paris prolongée offers a ribbon of stalls stretching for hundreds of metres. Vendors set up from 7:30am to prepare their wares, and visitors browse until 6pm searching for the deal of the day. Antique furniture, vintage clothing, collector's books, vinyl records, trinkets and everyday objects from another era mingle in a festive, relaxed atmosphere.

Atelier 55: culture and community at its heart

Atelier 55 is much more than a simple market organiser. This local residents' association, dedicated to promoting artistic and cultural exchanges in Joinville-le-Pont, devotes all proceeds from the flea market to funding its local cultural projects. Only second-hand items are accepted; all new merchandise is strictly prohibited. The organisation has been refined over more than fifty editions.
