Vouillé Flea Market and Craft Fair

A mixed format: chining and craft

Vouillé, c. 3,600 inhabitants, Haut-Poitou, 20 km west of Poitiers. Every 8 May, the Traversonne village committee (a Vouillé neighbourhood) runs an original event combining outdoor flea market and indoor craft exhibition. 2026: Friday 8 May rue de la Vauville, 8 am-6 pm, about 200 sellers.

Out of the ordinary

Outdoors: classic flea market of private sellers clearing attics. Indoors: proper craft exhibition highlighting local and regional creators. Crafters get provided tables and a dedicated area.

200 sellers, wide choice

Good balance of variety and human scale. Mix avoids monotony — find a private bargain, a unique handmade piece, a décor object, an old book, or simply a coffee break.

Vouillé, a historic Poitou site

Site of the famous 507 Battle of Vouillé, where Clovis defeated Alaric II — a defining step for the Frankish kingdom. Old streets, Saint-Hilaire church. Active commune with rich community fabric.

Traversonne village committee

Organising association, a local structure uniting the neighbourhood and maintaining year-round festive dynamism.
