Annual flea market and car boot sale next to the train station, organized by the Judo Club Mehun
Every year, the Judo Club de Mehun-sur-Yèvre organizes a car boot sale and flea market on the Boulevard de la Liberté, near the SNCF train station. This popular event brings together around 150 private sellers, making it one of the largest car boot sales on the outskirts of Bourges.
From 6 am to 6 pm, stalls line the Boulevard de la Liberté, offering bargain hunters a varied selection of second-hand items, clothing, toys, crockery, trinkets, and books. Access from the station side allows easy entry, including for visitors arriving by train. The event is accessible to people with reduced mobility.
Mehun-sur-Yèvre is a historic town in the Cher region, famous for its medieval castle, which was a favorite residence of the Duke of Berry, and for its tradition of ceramics and porcelain. Located about fifteen kilometers from Bourges, it offers a pleasant setting between the Yèvre river and the Berry canal.
The Judo Club provides refreshments and light snacks on site, allowing visitors and sellers to cool down and eat throughout the day. The proceeds help fund the club's sports activities.
