Annual large flea market organized by Olympique Mehun Handball in September
Every year in September, the Olympique Mehun Handball organizes its Grande Brocante in the streets of Mehun-sur-Yèvre. In 2026, the event celebrates its 25th edition, demonstrating the attachment of residents and bargain hunters to this back-to-school event. Around 100 exhibitors set up their stalls along the streets, offering a wide range of second-hand items, antiques, and curiosities.
Olympique Mehun Handball, an active sports club in the town, organizes this event to fund its activities and teams. Club volunteers ensure the welcome of exhibitors, the drinks service, and food catering throughout the day. The profits contribute to the purchase of equipment, travel, and the training of young players.
Mehun-sur-Yèvre, located about fifteen kilometers northwest of Bourges, is a town steeped in history. Its castle, a favorite residence of Duke Jean de Berry, has dominated the town since the Middle Ages. The ceramic and porcelain tradition has long made the city famous. The flea market is part of this heritage setting, offering visitors the opportunity to stroll among the stalls while discovering the charm of this small town in Berry.
Access is free for visitors. Exhibitor pitches are offered at a rate of €2 per linear meter, with mandatory booking. The flea market takes place from 8 am to 6:30 pm, rain or shine.
