The spring réderie in the heart of Ponthieu
The village of Nouvion, in northern Somme, organizes each spring its large flea market run by the local Firefighters Association. With about 80 exhibitors spread across the village centre, the event occupies several emblematic streets.
Private individuals make up the vast majority of exhibitors, clearing their attics. On the stalls you find tableware, porcelain, trinkets, old books, comics, second-hand toys, children's and adults' clothes, vinyls, small appliances, tools, decorative items and small furniture.
Nouvion is a village of about 1,000 inhabitants, 10 km north of Abbeville. Located at the edge of the Bay of Somme and Ponthieu, visitors can easily extend their day with an excursion to Saint-Valéry-sur-Somme or Crécy.
As in many Somme municipalities, the flea market is organized by the Firefighters Association. Proceeds fund the association's activities. Volunteers handle reception, logistics, refreshments and catering.
