Village car boot sale in the Vercors resort, at 1,000 m altitude
On the first Sunday of September, Lans-en-Vercors hosts its annual car boot sale in the Portail Rouge district. At 1,000 meters altitude, on the Vercors plateau, this event combines the pleasure of bargain hunting with the pleasant mountain coolness at the end of summer.
Lans-en-Vercors is one of the main towns on the Vercors plateau, just 25 minutes from Grenoble. A Nordic ski resort in winter and a hiking base in summer, the village lives to the rhythm of the seasons. The September car boot sale marks the transition between the summer and autumn seasons, in a peaceful and family-friendly atmosphere.
The car boot sale is organized for the benefit of the residents' association of the Portail Rouge district. This residential area of Lans-en-Vercors offers a pleasant setting for the event, with its quiet streets lined with chalets and mountain houses. The stalls are set up along the streets of the district, creating a human-sized bargain hunting trail.
A visit to the car boot sale can be an opportunity to discover or rediscover Lans-en-Vercors and the Vercors plateau. There are many hiking trails in the surrounding area, and the village offers pleasant dining and shopping options. In September, the autumn colors begin to tint the forests, offering magnificent landscapes.
