An autumn réderie in the Ponthieu

Nouvion, a commune of about 1,200 inhabitants north-east of Abbeville in the Ponthieu, holds its annual late-September réderie each year. The 2026 edition is set for Sunday 27 September. It is a fixture on the Somme bay calendar, drawing local bargain hunters, visitors from the Picard coast and passing tourists. It perfectly embodies the spirit of the Picard réderie, between country tradition and village conviviality.

What you'll find

Exhibitors, mostly private sellers from Nouvion and nearby villages, offer a wide range of items: antique furniture, earthenware, embroidered linen, farm tools, books, toys from past decades, records, grandmother's trinkets, vintage clothing and assorted bric-a-brac. A few semi-professional dealers from the area round out the offer with more selective pieces. Prices remain accessible and haggling friendly.

A stop between land and sea

The Ponthieu is the historic region stretching between the Somme and Authie rivers, from hedgerow countryside to the seashore. Nouvion lies about 15 km from Abbeville and 20 minutes from Le Crotoy. A day at the réderie can be easily combined with a trip to the Somme bay: a visit to Le Crotoy or Saint-Valery, a walk along the canalised Somme, or a visit to the Marquenterre bird reserve. A lovely way to combine bargain hunting and nature.

An authentic atmosphere

The réderie is also a moment of village life: the organising committee runs a drinks stand, residents sometimes offer waffles, fries or pancakes, and children roam freely. The scale remains human, the welcome warm and the pace relaxed. For lovers of authentic brocante far from crowded gatherings, Nouvion offers a welcome Picard pause.
