Grand car boot sale of Benais, wine village of the Bourgueil appellation on the banks of the Loire
The grand car boot sale of Benais is held each early summer in the center of the village, a wine village of the AOC Bourgueil. Private sellers take over the streets for a day of treasure hunting from 6 am to 6 pm, between vineyards and troglodytic heritage.
The grand vide-greniers de Benais is an early summer event much appreciated by treasure hunters from the Bourgueillois region. Held in the village center from 6 am to 6 pm, the car boot sale welcomes many private sellers offering clothes, toys, books, crockery, trinkets, tools, small furniture, vinyl records, and various second-hand items. The atmosphere of a wine-making village and the picturesque setting add to the pleasure of treasure hunting.
Benais (37140) is a wine-making commune in the heart of the AOC Bourgueil appellation, one of the finest red wines of the Loire Valley, made from the cabernet franc grape variety. The village is famous for its troglodytic cellars dug into the tuffeau stone, where winemakers age their wines. The Château de Benais, the Romanesque chapel, and the winegrowers' houses form a discreet but authentic heritage. The Benais hillside produces wines renowned for their finesse and aging potential.
The grand car boot sale of Benais offers an opportunity to discover a charming wine-making village. Refreshments and food are available on site. Entry is free.
The Grand vide-greniers de Benais returns in June 2026 to the village center.
