Erches Village Flea Market, Concert and Festival

An original format in the Santerre

Erches, a small village of barely 300 inhabitants on the Santerre plateau between Roye and Montdidier, offers each year an original event combining three traditions: flea market, concert and village fair. The 2026 edition is scheduled for Monday 14 September, on rue d'Arvillers. This combined format lets visitors spend a whole day in the village, between early bargain hunting, a musical break, an outdoor lunch and festive activities.

A traditional flea market

The flea-market portion gathers private sellers from the Santerre and neighbouring villages. You'll find the classic bric-a-brac of Picard réderies: tableware, linen, furniture, trinkets, clothing, toys and old books. Prices are gentle and the atmosphere convivial, in the spirit of the rural vide-grenier. Note that this event is distinct from the Sunday flea market held in Ercheu (80930), a homonymous commune south-west of Roye.

A concert and a festival

In parallel with the flea market, the local festival committee organises a concert and various village activities. On-site catering, drinks stand and children's games punctuate the day. This blend of bargain hunting and culture gives the event a particular flavour: visitors come as much to find a treasure as to share an outdoor musical moment. The village-fair spirit remains at the heart of the event.

Erches and the Santerre

The Santerre is the vast farming plain stretching between the Somme valley and the Oise. Erches is a typical village of large cereal and beetroot fields. It belongs to the Grand Roye Community of Communes. Access is via the D934 from Roye or the A1 motorway (exit 12 Roye). Heritage enthusiasts can use the day to visit neighbouring villages and their churches rebuilt after 1918.
