Village car boot sale in the heart of Saintois in Meurthe-et-Moselle
Diarville, a charming village in Saintois located south of Meurthe-et-Moselle, organizes its annual car boot sale every spring. This human-sized event brings together the inhabitants of the village and neighboring communes in a relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere, in the heart of the Lorraine countryside.
With its 522 inhabitants spread over 11 km² of meadows, fields, and woods, Diarville embodies the authenticity of rural life in Lorraine. The village, part of the Pays du Saintois intercommunal community, retains its traditional character with its Lorraine farmhouses, its church, and its central square. It is in this bucolic setting that the car boot sale unfolds, offering a welcome contrast to large urban markets.
Private sellers offer a wide range of second-hand items: clothes of all sizes, toys and games for children, tableware and kitchen utensils, books, trinkets, garden tools, small furniture, and decorative objects. Prices are attractive, and bargaining is encouraged, in the good-natured spirit typical of country car boot sales.
The Diarville car boot sale takes place outdoors, in the streets and on the village square. Visitors appreciate the calm and greenery of this rural environment, conducive to a leisurely stroll between the stalls. Refreshments and light snacks are available to complete this spring treasure hunt day in the open air.
