The Brocante Fontaine Zen, monthly 3rd Sunday, Gennes-Val-de-Loire
The Brocante Fontaine Zen is a monthly flea market held every 3rd Sunday of the month in Gennes-Val-de-Loire. Its poetic name — the zen fountain — evokes both the serenity of the place, the calm of treasure hunting, and the harmony between past and present that antique lovers seek.
The market hosts dealers and exhibitors offering antique and period furniture, decorative objects, ceramics and pottery, paintings and prints, books and photographs, vintage clothing and accessories, costume jewelry, small furniture, and trinkets. The monthly regularity of the third Sunday makes it a regular event that regulars know and look forward to.
Gennes-Val-de-Loire (49350) is a commune in Maine-et-Loire created in 2016 from the merger of several communes along the Loire, including Gennes and Saint-Georges-des-Sept-Voies. It is famous for its Gallo-Roman arenas in Gennes, remarkable vestiges of antiquity testifying to the importance of this locality in Roman times.
The commune's territory spans varied landscapes: the banks of the Loire, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the vineyard slopes of the Saumur and Coteaux de l'Aubance appellations, and tuffeau cliffs dotted with caves and troglodytes. This exceptional natural and heritage setting gives the monthly flea market a special atmosphere, that of an event rooted in a historically rich territory.
