The winter meeting for fishermen and bargain hunters at the Forum
The Car boot sale and Swap meet of Saint-Marcellin is an original event organized every winter by the AAPPMA (Accredited Association for Fishing and Protection of the Aquatic Environment) of Saint-Marcellin. At the Forum, Cours Vallier, fishing enthusiasts and bargain hunters meet to exchange and sell fishing equipment, as well as various items. From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., tables and chairs are provided to exhibitors who pay €3 per linear meter.
The Car boot sale and Swap meet is an atypical and unique event in Isère that brings together two complementary worlds: that of freshwater fishing and that of the flea market. Organized by the AAPPMA (Accredited Association for Fishing and Protection of the Aquatic Environment) of Saint-Marcellin, this winter gathering allows passionate fishermen to sell, exchange, or buy second-hand fishing equipment: fly and casting rods, reels, artisanal lures, boxes of artificial flies, landing nets, waders, fishing vests, and various equipment. In parallel, you will also find the usual flea market items: crockery, books, clothes, and trinkets.
The choice of February is not insignificant: it is the low season for fishermen, between the closure of trout fishing and the March reopening which marks the start of the season. The Forum of Saint-Marcellin, located on Cours Vallier, offers a comfortable and heated indoor space for this winter event. Tables and chairs are provided to exhibitors, who benefit from a very accessible rate of €3 per linear meter. It is an opportunity for fishermen to meet, discuss their catches from the past season, and prepare for the next opening.
The AAPPMA of Saint-Marcellin is an essential association for the preservation of the aquatic environments of the region. It manages several fishing lots on the Isère and its tributaries, ensures the maintenance of the banks and waterways, organizes fish restocking operations, and raises public awareness about the protection of aquatic biodiversity. The profits from the Swap meet directly contribute to the financing of these crucial missions for the preservation of the rivers of the Vercors and the Isère valley.
The Swap meet is held on a Sunday in February at the Forum, Cours Vallier. From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., admission is free for visitors. Fishermen will find quality equipment at reduced prices to equip their next season. Non-fishermen will also appreciate the classic car boot sale section and the warm refreshment stand.
