APE Goven Car boot sale

300 exhibitors in the village streets

The Goven car boot sale has grown over the editions to become one of the largest in the community of communes. Around 300 private exhibitors — professionals are not admitted — set up their stalls along the rue de Lampatre, the rue du Perray, the placis de l'Hôtel Ruais, and the adjacent streets of the village. From 8 am to 5 pm, bargain hunters browse this vast open-air market in search of clothes, toys, books, crockery, small furniture, and a thousand everyday finds. No reservation is necessary: pitches are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

The APE serving schoolchildren

The Parents' Association of the public school of Goven has been organizing this car boot sale for over 30 years. All profits are donated to finance school trips, educational projects, and equipment for the children of the town. Volunteers from the association ensure the welcome of exhibitors, traffic management, and on-site catering — crêpes, galettes-saucisses, and refreshing drinks accompany the day.

Goven, a green village south of Rennes
