Festive car boot sale for the national holiday in the Loir Valley
Every July 14th, Montoire-sur-le-Loir organizes its traditional car boot sale in the streets of this picturesque small town in the Loir Valley. From 7 am to 6 pm, exhibitors offer bric-a-brac, toys, clothes, and various items to visitors and locals who come to celebrate the national holiday.
Montoire-sur-le-Loir is a town rich in heritage: the Saint-Gilles chapel with its exceptional Romanesque murals, the ruins of the castle overlooking the valley, the medieval bridge spanning the Loir, and the beautiful 15th-16th century residences. The town is also famous for its International Folklore Festival held every summer.
The car boot sale is part of a complete festive program: daytime entertainment, refreshments and food, an evening torchlight procession, and fireworks launched over the Loir. The day concludes with a popular dance. A complete program for a memorable day in the Loir Valley.
The July 14th flea market in Montoire-sur-le-Loir returns in 2026: an annual tradition that enlivens the city center on the occasion of the national holiday. Bargain hunters wander among the stalls of private exhibitors (bric-a-brac, crockery, clothes, toys) from 7 AM to 6 PM, before the evening festivities (lantern parade, fireworks, and ball) organized by the City of Montoire.
