The festive day combining flea market and outdoor meal in the Revermont jurassien
The village of Cuisia, a small commune of 390 inhabitants in the Revermont jurassien, organizes every summer a festive day that combines a car boot sale and a country meal. This double formula, typical of Jura village festivals, attracts both bargain hunters and food lovers, in a relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere.
Private sellers set up their stalls in the streets and on the village square, offering crockery, toys, clothes, books, trinkets, and various items at low prices. The rural setting of Cuisia, with its stone houses and flowery gardens, gives this car boot sale a rustic charm not found in large urban flea markets.
The country meal is the highlight of the day. Under the trees or a marquee, residents and visitors gather around tables set up outdoors to enjoy local specialties. Grills, salads, Jura cheeses, and homemade desserts make up a generous menu, accompanied by wines from the nearby Revermont. This moment of sharing is the very essence of Jura village life.
Located in the canton of Beaufort, west of Lons-le-Saunier, Cuisia is one of those small villages in the Revermont that perpetuate the rural traditions of the Jura. The hilly landscape, between vineyards and pastures, offers a peaceful and authentic living environment. The commune is crossed by hiking trails that allow you to discover the natural riches of this territory.
