Easter and May 1st Flea Market at Vieux Charenton, with rides and entertainment
The town of Charenton-du-Cher, in the south of Cher, hosts several flea markets and car boot sales per year, mainly on the occasions of Easter and May 1st. These events are held on the Route de Coust, in the hamlet of Vieux Charenton, and are organized by the Town Hall and the CCAS (Centre Communal d'Action Sociale - Communal Social Action Centre).
The flea markets of Charenton-du-Cher attract between 100 and 300 exhibitors, mixing antique dealers and private individuals. The fee for exhibitors is €1.50 per linear meter, with a €5 supplement for those needing electricity. The stalls line the road from 6 am to 6 pm, offering bargain hunters a rich and varied experience.
Beyond the flea market, the event offers entertainment and rides for children, as well as a refreshment stand and catering service. This festive dimension makes it a complete family outing, in a pleasant rural setting.
Located on the borders of Berry and Bourbonnais, Charenton-du-Cher is a commune crossed by the river Cher. Vieux Charenton, an old historic village, retains an authentic charm with its stone houses and narrow streets. The flea markets are an opportunity to discover this little-known village and its rural heritage.
