A flea market in the heart of the Plougastel skatepark

For the back-to-school season in September, the PLO (Plougastel-Les-Oliviers Skateclub) in Plougastel-Daoulas (29470) is organizing, for the first time in its skatepark, an unprecedented event combining a flea market and board sports. This unique event, launched to mark the start of the club's 2025-2026 season, takes place from 9 am on the first Sunday of September.

Board sports in the spotlight

Unlike general car boot sales, this flea market is focused on board sports: skate, surf, BMX, rollerblading, scooters, and all related disciplines. Boards, trucks, wheels, protective gear, skate clothing, wetsuits, BMX bikes, rollerblades, and second-hand equipment can be found alongside more common items. The atmosphere is resolutely young, open, and festive, in keeping with board sports culture.

A humanitarian commitment: United Skateboards

The event also provides an opportunity to highlight the association United Skateboards, an NGO that carries out humanitarian projects by introducing skateboarding to disadvantaged communities around the world. The presence of this organization at the flea market allows the public to discover how skateboarding can be a tool for social integration and empowerment far beyond the borders of the Plougastel peninsula.

The PLO Skateclub, a player in local community life

The PLO Skateclub is a board sports club located in Plougastel-Daoulas, in the Brest suburbs. It manages and runs the local skatepark and offers lessons and activities for all levels, from beginners to experienced riders. The organization of this flea market is part of a desire to make the club a fully-fledged player in the social life of the town, open to everyone and rooted in the local area.
