Organized by La Confrérie du Cotentin, the Cherbourg-en-Cotentin Flea Market is held every first Saturday of the month at Place de la Trinité (50100), in the heart of the town. Cherbourg-en-Cotentin (50100) is the leading town in the Manche region with over 80,000 inhabitants in its urban area. Created from the merger of Cherbourg, Équeurdreville-Hainneville, La Glacerie, Querqueville, and Tourlaville in 2016, the commune is famous for its arsenal, its military and natural harbor, and its historical connection with shipbuilding and the national navy.

The town was made world-famous by Jacques Demy's film The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964) and boasts remarkable architectural heritage: the Trinité Basilica, the Château des Ravalet, and the Cité de la Mer located in the former transatlantic passenger terminal.
