Artistic and artisanal studio clear-outs in Plougastel-Daoulas, in March
Vide ateliers – Vies d'ateliers is an original event organized in Plougastel-Daoulas in March. Midway between a car boot sale and an artists' street sale, it allows local creators, artisans, and artists to sell their creations, materials, tools, and studio surplus in a warm and creative atmosphere.
In spring, in March, Plougastel-Daoulas (29470) hosts a unique event in the second-hand market landscape: Vide ateliers – Vies d'ateliers. At the crossroads of the traditional car boot sale and the artists' street sale, this event brings together creators, artisans, artists, and art lovers who wish to get rid of materials, tools, supplies, unfinished creations, or original works at affordable prices.
The central idea is the circulation of creative resources: brushes, canvases, fabrics, threads, beads, ceramics, worked wood, art books, specialized magazines, sewing patterns, embroidery kits, or bookbinding supplies can find their way into the hands of new creators rather than ending up in the trash. Vide ateliers is also an opportunity for artists to directly offer their works — paintings, sculptures, handmade jewelry, ceramics — at accessible prices.
Beyond simple sales, Vide ateliers – Vies d'ateliers is designed as a space for exchanges between creators and art lovers. Discussions between exhibitors and visitors allow for the transmission of know-how, the sharing of techniques, and the building of connections between the actors of the local creative scene on the Brest peninsula. This event is part of a broader dynamic of valuing artistic crafts and local creation in Finistère.
Plougastel-Daoulas has a rich cultural tradition, notably illustrated by its Museum of Strawberry and Heritage and its famous Chapel of Notre-Dame-de-la-Fontaine-Blanche. The town regularly hosts artistic and cultural events that are the pride of its inhabitants. Vide ateliers is part of this vibrant local cultural life, just a few minutes from the center of Brest.
Vide ateliers – Vies d'ateliers is expected in March 2026 in Plougastel-Daoulas. Exact date to be confirmed. Free admission, open to creators and art lovers.
