Le Beausset's flagship summer brocante
A flagship event of Le Beausset's summer, this large 15 August brocante and flea market stretches across the entire town centre. Run by the Tourist Office, it brings together professionals, antique dealers, private sellers and bargain hunters for a day of Provençal bargain hunting at the peak of the summer season.
At 8am on 15 August, as Provence stirs in the heat of high summer, Le Beausset prepares one of its biggest events: the 15 August brocante and flea market. For decades, the Tourist Office has organised this emblematic day, drawing hunters, tourists and holidaying families from across the Var, Bouches-du-Rhône and beyond.
Exhibitors — private and commercial — set up from 5am for a display that winds through the town centre: antique and vintage furniture, lamps, Provençal crockery, santons, trinkets, books and postcards, toys, vinyl, jewellery, household linen, old tools, Provençal farm gear, decor for second homes, clothing and accessories.
The Tourist Office supports exhibitors with paperwork, layout and safety. Local shops join in, opening and offering complementary activities.
The 15 August in Le Beausset is more than a brocante: it's a village festival blending bargain hunting, trade, gastronomy and conviviality. Bars and restaurants are packed, cicadas sing in the century-old plane trees of Esplanade Charles de Gaulle, and holidaymakers leave with a taste of authentic Provence.
With the Easter Monday and Whit Monday brocantes, the 15 August event completes the town's trio of great bargain-hunting days. Savvy regulars plan their morning early to beat the heat and grab the best finds.
