Summer flea market organized by the Culture and Leisure Association in the streets of Menchhoffen village
The Menchhoffen Flea Market is a traditional summer event in Alsace. Organized by the Culture and Leisure Association in the streets of this small Bas-Rhin village, it draws bargain-hunters and families each year for a friendly day out. Private sellers, enthusiasts and local associations offer furniture, tableware, books, toys, vinyls and vintage items at low prices. Food and refreshments are provided by the association's volunteers.
The Menchhoffen Flea Market is one of those authentic small gatherings that define the charm of Alsatian summers. Organized every July by the Menchhoffen Culture and Leisure Association, this event stretches through the streets of the village. It brings together private sellers, collectors and residents who come to empty their attics or hunt for hidden gems in the family-friendly atmosphere typical of small Bas-Rhin communes.
For many years, the Culture and Leisure Association (ACL) has kept alive this must-see event for the residents of Menchhoffen and neighboring communes. Volunteers are busy from dawn welcoming vendors, setting up stands and preparing food. The event runs from 6am to 6pm, giving bargain-hunters a wide window to find good deals and unusual items. The proceeds collected allow the association to fund its cultural and leisure activities throughout the year.
Visitors discover a wide variety of goods along the alleys: old pottery, faience tableware, rustic furniture, second-hand books, comics, vinyls, old toys, vintage clothing and curiosities of all kinds. The absence of professionals guarantees affordable prices and an authentic bargain-hunting experience. The refreshment stand offers cold drinks, coffee, homemade Alsatian pastries, grilled food and fries throughout the day in a cheerful atmosphere.
Menchhoffen is a rural commune of around 600 inhabitants located in the Bas-Rhin, near Bouxwiller, in the Pays de Hanau. This area, at the gates of the Northern Vosges Regional Natural Park, is known for its rolling landscapes, orchards and typical half-timbered villages of northern Alsace. Menchhoffen preserves a rich rural heritage and a dynamic community life in which the summer flea market is one of the highlights. The Village Festival that sometimes accompanies the event adds to its friendly and popular character.
Menchhoffen Culture and Leisure Association flea market on Sunday, July 12, 2026 from 6am to 6pm. In the village streets. Free entry. Refreshments and food on site provided by ACL volunteers.
