A fair dedicated to childhood

The Villers-Bretonneux Childcare and Baby Fair will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2026, in this historic town in the Val de Somme. Unlike general flea markets, this event is specifically tailored to baby and children's items: clothing, strollers, cribs, high chairs, toys, books, school supplies, and nursery equipment (such as baby food makers, baby monitors, and diaper bags). It is a focused format designed to meet the practical needs of young families.

An economic and eco-friendly model

The fair allows parents whose children have outgrown their gear to resell items in excellent condition, while helping other families save money. It is both an economic choice—offering substantial savings compared to buying new—and an ecological one, as it promotes reuse and local circularity. Each exhibitor is responsible for their own items during the event, particularly for equipment subject to safety standards, such as cribs and car seats.

Clothing from newborn to age 12 (boys and girls), shoes and slippers, single and double strollers, travel cots, bouncers, changing tables, car seats, baby monitors, bottles, developmental toys, board games, stuffed animals, children's books, maternity wear, school bags, and various childcare accessories. The selection varies with each edition depending on the participating families.

An event hosted by the Ping Pong Club

The fair is organized by the Ping Pong Club of Villers-Bretonneux and takes place annually; the October 4, 2026, edition is the 20th to be held. It follows a traditional car boot sale format rather than a consignment shop model: each exhibitor brings their own stand to sell their items directly. Around forty exhibitors, mostly private individuals, are expected.

Villers-Bretonneux, a Franco-Australian village

Villers-Bretonneux is a town of approximately 4,500 residents located 15 km east of Amiens. It is famous as the site of a turning point in the Battle of the Somme in April 1918, when Australian troops liberated the village from German forces. The Australian National Memorial and the Victoria School, built with donations from the children of Victoria, Australia, stand as testaments to the enduring Franco-Australian friendship.
