ACTP Car Boot Sale in Toulouges

A car boot sale led by a Catalan heritage association

The Collections Traditions Passions Association (ACTP) organizes its car boot sale in Toulouges, perpetuating a strong community tradition in this town of the Roussillon Plain. Founded in 1998, the association brings together collectors and enthusiasts committed to defending Catalan traditions and local heritage. The car boot sale is open to members and private individuals wishing to clear out attics, garages, and closets. Visitors can find second-hand items, clothing, toys, books, crockery, small furniture, and various collections.

Toulouges, birthplace of the 1027 peace synod

Toulouges, located 6 km southwest of Perpignan in the Roussillon Plain, has a remarkable medieval history. The village is mentioned as early as 908 in a diploma of Charles the Bald confirming that the lands of Tulugis belonged to the Lagrasse abbey. But it is above all the synod of the Trêva de Deu (Truce of God) held in Toulouges on May 16, 1027, under the aegis of Abbot Oliva, that brought the town into history: these peace prescriptions then extended to almost all of France. The church in the heart of the village, with its two bell towers (secular and religious) facing each other, still bears witness to this prestigious past.

A Catalan and friendly atmosphere

In Toulouges, twinned for almost 30 years with the Spanish Catalan municipality of Les Borges Blanques, arts and traditions play an important role in social bonds. The ACTP organizes several car boot sales per year, including the February one which opens the season, and the great Easter car boot sale which brings together hundreds of exhibitors on Easter Monday on avenue Paul-Lafargue. The atmosphere is Catalan, friendly, and family-oriented, marked by the legendary hospitality of Roussillon.
