Car boot sale on July 14th in the village square of Verjon, in Revermont
Every July 14th, Bastille Day, the village of Verjon comes alive for its traditional car boot sale. This small commune in Revermont, in the south of the Ain region, offers a picturesque and authentic setting for a day of outdoor treasure hunting.
The Verjon car boot sale stands out for its particularly attractive price: only 1 euro per linear meter. No reservations are necessary; sellers set up on a first-come, first-served basis. A free coffee is offered to each seller, and a trash bag is distributed to maintain the cleanliness of the site.
Stalls are set up in the village square and adjacent streets, creating a temporary market in the heart of the village. Between 100 and 200 private sellers offer clothes, toys, books, dishes, and various second-hand items. New merchandise and food stalls are not accepted: only car boot sale items are allowed.
Verjon is located in Revermont, a transitional area between Bresse and the first plateau of the Jura mountains. The rolling landscape, vineyards, and surrounding forests offer a charming setting for an outing on Bastille Day.
