Annual car boot sale organized by the Union Sportive de Montélier, a village in the Drôme region
Every spring, the Union Sportive de Montélier organizes its big annual car boot sale. This friendly event allows residents to get rid of their unwanted items and the association to fund its sports activities throughout the year. A great illustration of the central role associations play in the life of Drôme villages.
Montélier is a rural commune of about 3,500 inhabitants, located about ten kilometers northeast of Valence. This village in the Valence plain, crossed by the Barberolle river, retains a strong agricultural character with its orchards and fields. Its built heritage, its Romanesque church, and its shaded alleys make it a charming village in the Drôme hills.
The Union Sportive de Montélier has been a driving force in the village's sports life for many years. Its annual car boot sale has become a much-anticipated event for the residents of the village and neighboring communes. Private sellers and bargain hunters meet in a family atmosphere to browse stalls filled with clothes, toys, books, crockery, and everyday items.
Admission is free for visitors. Pitches are available for private sellers. Food and drinks are provided by the association. Information available from US Montélier.
