Annual car boot sale by the Fêtes Committee in September at Saint-Yon
Every September, Saint-Yon hosts its annual car boot sale organised by the village's Fêtes Committee. On Rue de la Mairie, between 50 and 80 private sellers set up from 8am to 6pm, offering second-hand goods in the authentic atmosphere of a village market. This event is one of the most appreciated moments of local life in Saint-Yon and surrounding Hurepoix communities.
Saint-Yon is a rural village of around 2,000 inhabitants in the Essonne Hurepoix, between Montlhéry and Arpajon. Large cereal farms dominate the plateau, dotted with woodlands and orchards. The village's Romanesque church, millstone-grit houses and farming heritage make it a typical example of the Hurepoix countryside. The September timing is ideal: mild temperatures and beautiful late-season light in the Hurepoix, with opportunities to explore the surrounding paths and tracks.
Sunday 13 September 2026, 8am–6pm.
Rue de la Mairie, Saint-Yon 91650.
By car from Arpajon (D116) or Montlhéry (D97). Interurban buses from RER stations in the Orge valley.
Free for visitors.
