Every September, Saint-Yon hosts its annual car boot sale organised by the village's Fêtes Committee. On Rue de la Mairie, between 50 and 80 private sellers set up from 8am to 6pm, offering second-hand goods in the authentic atmosphere of a village market. This event is one of the most appreciated moments of local life in Saint-Yon and surrounding Hurepoix communities.

Saint-Yon is a rural village of around 2,000 inhabitants in the Essonne Hurepoix, between Montlhéry and Arpajon. Large cereal farms dominate the plateau, dotted with woodlands and orchards.
