The Rotary Club's charity car boot sale, in the heart of the spa town of Salies-du-Salat
Every autumn, the Rotary Club of Salies-du-Salat organizes its annual car boot sale in the streets of this charming spa town in Comminges. The event brings together individuals and bargain hunters in a friendly atmosphere, with the aim of raising funds for the club's charitable activities. Stalls offer furniture, clothing, books, toys, tableware, and collectibles at negotiable prices.
Salies-du-Salat is a commune of about 1,800 inhabitants located in the Salat valley, 75 km southwest of Toulouse. Known since the 19th century for its salty and thermal springs, the town has remarkable architectural heritage: the Art Deco style casino, the old thermal baths, the Saint-Jean-Baptiste church, and the landscaped banks of the Salat. The car boot sale takes place in the town center, allowing visitors to discover this heritage while browsing.
The October edition is a popular event for bargain hunters in the Saint-Gaudens and Comminges area. The Rotary Club mobilizes its members for logistical organization and offers a refreshment stand whose proceeds contribute to the funding of local and international humanitarian projects. Entry is free for visitors.
Salies-du-Salat is accessible from Toulouse via the A64 motorway (Saint-Gaudens exit) then the D117. The town has several free car parks near the center. For information and stall reservations, you can contact the Tourist Office at 05 61 90 53 93.
