Annual 8 May car boot sale organized by Pact en Fête
Every 8 May, the day commemorating Victory, the village of Pact comes alive with its traditional car boot sale organized by the association Pact en Fête. This outdoor event takes advantage of the public holiday to bring together exhibitors and visitors in a rural setting, in the heart of this small commune of about 600 inhabitants.
The Pact car boot sale cultivates the authenticity of rural events. Exhibitors, mainly individuals, come to clear out their attics and offer a varied assortment of second-hand items: crockery, clothing, toys, trinkets, tools, books, and small furniture. Prices are generally very reasonable, and exchanges between neighbours add to the warm atmosphere of this festive day.
Located in the Isère region along the Rhône, between Beaurepaire and the Rhône river, Pact is a rural commune that has preserved its agricultural and wine-growing character. The village, with its church and stone houses, offers a picturesque setting for this outdoor event. The surrounding hills and the vineyards of the Pays beaurepairois add to the charm of this day of outdoor treasure hunting.
The Pact en Fête association is the driving force behind the village's festive life. It organizes various events throughout the year—including the 8 May car boot sale—that contribute to social cohesion among residents and the commune's dynamism. Volunteers ensure the logistical organization, the reception of exhibitors, and the management of the refreshment stand offered on the day of the event.
