Each year in September, the Stade Georges Martin in Fuveau transforms into a huge open-air flea market. The Vide-Grenier des AIL is organized by the Amis de l'Instruction Laïque, a historic association in Fuveau that animates the cultural and sports life of the village throughout the year with activities as varied as basketball, archery, modern jazz dance, theater, and manga classes. Nestled in the heights between Aix-en-Provence and Gardanne, Fuveau is a village of character in the Bouches-du-Rhône that has retained the imprint of its mining past. The Provence coal basin, of which Fuveau was one of the nerve centers, shaped the identity of this commune until the closure of the last mines in 2003. The car boot sale is reserved for individuals. Pitch reservations are made by email or phone with the AIL association. It is advisable to book in advance, as places are limited and in high demand. Entry is free for visitors, and the car boot sale is held from 9 am to 6 pm.
