With its 300 announced private sellers, the Villers-Bretonneux vide-grenier stands out as one of the major bargain-hunting events in the east of the Somme department. This substantial size guarantees a rich and diverse offering.
Villers-Bretonneux is a commune of around 4,500 inhabitants located 16 km east of Amiens. Its international notoriety is due to its singular history: almost entirely destroyed in 1918 during the eponymous battle, it was rebuilt thanks to the generosity of schoolchildren from Victoria, Australia.
With 300 exhibitors spread through the streets of the commune, the offering is by definition very rich. Given the village's particular history, it is not uncommon to discover items linked to the Great War or the Australian presence.
The Villers-Bretonneux vide-grenier is organised directly by the commune, which guarantees solid logistics and good visibility.
A day in Villers-Bretonneux for the réderie can be extended by discovering the Remembrance circuit, a memorial route that marks the east of the Somme. The Australian national memorial offers a striking panorama.
