Every September, Place Simone de Beauvoir and the surroundings of the La Touche neighborhood center host Simone's Car Boot Sale. Over 300 private exhibitors set up their stalls from 8 am to 6 pm, offering clothes, toys, books, crockery, trinkets, and a thousand items at low prices. The event takes place both indoors and outdoors, offering bargain hunters a varied experience regardless of the weather.
The La Touche district is a dynamic area in western Rennes, near the Villejean campus and the CHU. Place Simone de Beauvoir, named after the philosopher and writer, is the heart of the neighborhood. Simone's Car Boot Sale is primarily a local event. Exhibitors are individuals from the neighborhood and surrounding areas who are clearing out their attics, cellars, and closets.
