55th edition of the biggest street sale in Brittany, in the heart of the historic center of Rennes
For over half a century, the Grande Braderie de Rennes has transformed the historic center into a gigantic bargain space. From 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., around 500 merchants, traders, and artisans take over the pedestrian streets, from rue d'Antrain to boulevard de la Liberté, and from place Saint-Germain to rue de la Monnaie. You can find branded clothing, furniture, decor, books, tableware, toys, and a thousand finds at bargain prices. The event attracts over 450,000 visitors each year, making this the busiest day of the year in the center of Rennes.
The Grande Braderie is not limited to the merchants' stalls. The shops in the city center open their doors with exceptional discounts, the terraces of cafes and restaurants spill onto the sidewalks, and musical entertainment punctuates the day. The STAR transport network is free for the occasion, facilitating access to the heart of the metropolis. The cobbled streets of old Rennes, lined with half-timbered houses, offer a unique setting for this popular day of treasure hunting and strolling.
A leading university and cultural city, Rennes combines historical heritage and contemporary dynamism. The Parliament of Brittany, the Place des Lices, the Halles Martenot, and the Thabor park create a remarkable urban setting. The Grande Braderie is part of this Rennes tradition of conviviality and neighborhood life that makes the Breton capital so charming.
Lines A and B, stations République, Sainte-Anne, or Charles de Gaulle. STAR network free on the day of the street sale.
Park-and-ride lots on the outskirts are recommended. City center closed to traffic.
