The big car boot sale of the Saint-Hélier district in Rennes, organized by the Association du Petit Faubourg Saint-Hélier Gares
Every year at the end of September, the Saint-Hélier district of Rennes comes alive to the rhythm of its car boot sale, one of the largest in the Breton capital. Organized by the Association du Petit Faubourg Saint-Hélier Gares, the event brings together over 300 exhibitors — individuals and professionals — along rue Saint-Hélier, rue du Verger, rue Alain Gerbault, and rue Marie Alizon. From 8 am to 6 pm, the stalls overflow with clothes, books, vinyl records, crockery, furniture, and vintage items that delight Rennes' bargain hunters.
The Saint-Hélier district, located southeast of Rennes city center, takes its name from the old parish church dedicated to Saint Hélier. In the immediate vicinity of the SNCF train station, this residential and commercial district has a strong identity and a particularly lively neighborhood life. The annual car boot sale is one of the highlights of local community life, attracting visitors from all over the Rennes metropolitan area and beyond. The festive atmosphere and the many possible finds make this day a highly anticipated event.
Spaces are offered at a rate of €4 per linear meter (i.e., €8 for 2 meters outdoors). Bookings are open from June by email. Refreshments and food are available on-site. Food vendors are not accepted. The website braderie.saint-helier.org centralizes information and registrations.
