Recurring Sunday car boot sale in Saint-Maixant, in the heart of Gironde's Entre-deux-Mers
On Sundays, the village of Saint-Maixant (33490) hosts its recurring car boot sale, a popular treasure hunting event in the southern Gironde region. Private sellers set up their stalls to offer a wide variety of second-hand items: clothing, toys, books, tableware, trinkets, small appliances, and decorative objects. The atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly, typical of car boot sales in the Gironde countryside.
Saint-Maixant is a commune of about 1,200 inhabitants located on the right bank of the Garonne river, about thirty kilometers southeast of Bordeaux. The village, nestled in the rolling landscape of the Entre-deux-Mers, is surrounded by vineyards producing Bordeaux and Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux wines. Its Romanesque church and vine-covered hills offer a picturesque setting for a Sunday morning of treasure hunting.
Under the evocative name "Trouvailles" (Finds), this car boot sale focuses on the variety of items offered and the joy of discovery. Visitors come to unearth unexpected treasures at low prices. Admission is free, and the village's rural setting adds to the charm of these Sunday flea market mornings.
From Bordeaux, take the D10 or A62 towards Langon, exit Saint-Maixant. The village is about 35 km southeast of Bordeaux.
