Monthly flea market in the streets of the bastide of Sainte-Foy-la-Grande, from May to October, organized by Cœur de Bastide
Every second Sunday of the month, from May to October, the streets of the bastide of Sainte-Foy-la-Grande (33220) come alive with a friendly flea market. Rue Victor Hugo, rue Alsace Lorraine, and rue Pasteur host antique dealers, second-hand dealers, and individuals offering furniture, trinkets, tableware, books, vintage clothing, and collector's items. The architectural setting of this bastide founded in 1255, with its half-timbered houses and arcades, gives these Puces an incomparable charm.
Sainte-Foy-la-Grande is a bastide of about 2,500 inhabitants perched on the left bank of the Dordogne, on the border of Gironde and Dordogne. Founded in 1255 by Alphonse de Poitiers, it retains a checkerboard layout and remarkable medieval heritage: half-timbered houses, fortified towers, arcaded squares. The bastide is also a dynamic cultural hub with its markets, festivals, and local shops.
The six annual editions (May, June, July, August, September, October) allow visitors to return regularly to explore new arrivals. The association Cœur de Bastide organizes the event and ensures the quality of the exhibitors. Extended hours (6 a.m. to 6 p.m.) allow early risers to take advantage of the best finds. For exhibitors, the fee is €10 for 5 meters or €3/m.
