Car boot sale as part of the Cherry Festival in Escoussans, in the Entre-deux-Mers region of Gironde
Every year in June, the village of Escoussans (33760) hosts its Cherry Festival, a festive and gourmet event of which the car boot sale is one of the highlights. Private sellers set up their stalls in the village center to offer clothes, toys, books, tableware, trinkets, and various items. In parallel, stalls showcase cherries in all their forms: fresh fruit, jams, clafoutis, and other delicacies.
Escoussans is a commune of about 800 inhabitants located in the Entre-deux-Mers region, between Targon and Cadillac. While vines dominate the landscape with their Bordeaux and Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux appellations, the village is also renowned for its cherry orchards that color the hillsides white in spring and red in early summer. This fruit tradition, dating back several generations, is celebrated each year during the Cherry Festival, which has become a must-attend event for the commune.
The combination of the car boot sale and the Cherry Festival makes this day a unique event in the landscape of Gironde flea markets. Treasure hunters stroll between the stalls while enjoying fresh cherries and homemade pastries. Admission is free, and on-site catering offers cherry-based specialties.
From Bordeaux, take the D10 towards Cadillac, then towards Targon and Escoussans. Approximately 40 km southeast of Bordeaux.
