Every 15 August, Airvault opens its streets and squares to private exhibitors for a popular family car boot sale. This characterful small town, nestled in the Thouet valley in northern Deux-Sèvres, provides an exceptional setting for a day of summer browsing.
Airvault is one of the finest communes in the department, known for its Saint-Pierre abbey church, a jewel of 11th-century Poitevin Romanesque art, and its medieval bridge spanning the Thouet.
Like any good country car boot sale, the Airvault event offers the classic mix from attics and cellars: clothing, toys, games, crockery, small furniture, tools, books, vinyl records, ornaments and decorative items.
