Bargain hunting on the Vaucluse plateau, among cedars and stone villages
Murs is one of those discreet villages that the Luberon hides so well in its folds. Located on the Vaucluse plateau between Gordes and Venasque, on the edge of the Cedar Forest, this hamlet of barely 450 inhabitants has retained a preserved rural character.
The plateau is known for its open landscapes, vast expanses of holm oaks, lavender fields and remarkable cedar forest planted in the 19th century. Visitors often extend their trip with a hike, a stop in nearby Joucas, or a visit to Gordes.
The flea market brings together around a hundred private exhibitors who empty attics, cellars and sheds. You will find antique Provençal linens, farming tools, grandmother's tableware, books, clothing, toys and some rustic furniture.
