Venasque Votive Festival Flea Market

A votive festival at the height of summer

Every year in mid-August, Venasque celebrates its Votive Festival, one of the village's most anticipated events. For 2026, it runs from Saturday 15 to Monday 17 August, with a dense programme combining Provençal traditions, musical entertainment, shared meals and, in the heart of Sunday, the flea market on 16 August from 9 am to 1 pm.

The flea market sets up in the narrow lanes and on Place des Tours, a remarkable heritage backdrop. Stalls offer classic Comtat Venaissin bric-a-brac: tableware, books, clothes, toys, trinkets, small furniture and Provençal objects.

Venasque, a village of stone and history

Among The Most Beautiful Villages of France, Venasque is a gem perched at the foot of Mont Ventoux. Its 6th-century Merovingian baptistery, three Saracen towers and ramparts form a first-rank historical ensemble.

The three days feature aubades in the lanes, apéritifs, shared meals, Provençal games (pétanque, longue), contests and evening entertainment.
