Classified among The Most Beautiful Villages of France, this village perched on a rocky spur at the foot of Mont Ventoux hosts its June communal flea market every year, organized by the Festivals Committee. Remarkable medieval heritage
Venasque is one of the region's oldest villages: its name gave its own to the Comtat Venaissin, a former papal state. The 6th-century Merovingian baptistery is one of France's oldest Christian buildings.
A heritage bargain-hunting atmosphere
Stalls set up in the lanes and small squares of the historic centre. Traditional bric-a-brac sits alongside objects tied to the village's rural and artisanal history: antique pottery, wooden objects and textiles.
Venasque, land of cherries and vines
The village is famous for its cherries, emblematic fruit of the Comtat Venaissin. In June, the cherry season is in full swing.
