The Mesnard-la-Barotière flea market

The Festival Committee holds an annual flea market at the pleasant Tricherie lake. The water, a village pride, suits such events: airy setting, country vibe, easy circulation. 2026 edition expected in autumn, continuing recent editions (6th, 7th, 8th depending on year).

Private vendors from the village and nearby lay out from early morning: clothes, toys, tableware, bibelots, books, small furniture. The Committee runs the bar and food stall, making it a proper village get-together.

Mesnard-la-Barotière, a Bas-Bocage village

A small commune of around 1,200 in Bas-Bocage Vendée, between Les Herbiers and Mortagne-sur-Sèvre. Streams and several lakes, notably the Tricherie lake — fishing, walks and summer events. Dense community life like much of inland Vendée.
